If you’ve ever wondered how to say “yes” to different tenants who all want different EV chargers, we’re here for you. We make it easy for tenants to install their own hardware and wiring. This reduces your upfront costs and the risk of being stuck with “stranded assets” if a tenant moves out. Essentially, we let separate systems work together so they never overload your building’s circuits.
Not at all. The Better Balancer controller can be integrated into your existing metering systems using standard communication protocols. Your electrician can easily install our non-intrusive power meters right into your switchboards. Best of all, no changes to your existing switchboard components are required.
Actually, we use a clever “indirect” approach. Better Balancer provides a smart power meter signal to each group of chargers. The chargers’ own management software then uses that signal to decide how to split the available power among the cars in that group. We handle the “big picture” building limits, and they handle the individual cars.
As long as the charger or its software has a “Dynamic Load Management” function that can read an electricity meter, it will work with us. Because our platform is extremely customisable, we can even add load balancing for new or uncommon systems as they hit the market.
While we solve the complex problems often found in large commercial buildings and car parks, many small and medium-sized buildings find us just as useful. Multi-family dwellings also get the same benefits: lower installation costs and easier daily operations.
This is a core safety feature: if the internet fails, Better Balancer doesn’t. All the critical functions are managed by an onsite “edge compute” unit that doesn’t require an “always on” connection to keep your building safe. If the Better Balancer calculations were to stop for any reason, your chargers simply revert to their standard fallback mode.
